I humble request you to please read complete this article.
Let's start Reading with Chanting Jai Sri RadheKrishna.
✨Radhashtami✨
Radhashtami is celebrated on the 8th day of the bright fortnight (shukla pasha ashtami) in the month of bhadra (August - September).
It is a very significant festival for the devotees.
This day signifies a unique relationship between God and Human that honours the selfies bond of Shri Krishna and Radharani.
Radhashtami is celebrated after 15 days of Janmashtami festival.
✨Fasting and Celebration✨
Radhashtami is ceremoniously celebrated in the Barsana.
On this beautiful day, Radhakrishna icons are traditionaly dressed entirely in beautiful flowers.
Radhashtami is the only day on which devotees may receive darshan of Radharani's feet. On all other days, they remain covered.
One more thing is that In Barsana, which is the birthplace of Sri Radharani, taking a bathe in the holy Radha Kund is strictly prohibited.
But on the day of RadhaAshtami, the devotees need to wait till midnight to take a dip in the holy waters of the Radha Kund and receive Her divine blessings.
So, this day is very special.
The sacred pool of Radha-Kund
On Radha Ashtami, devotees rise before sunrise and spend the day worshipping Goddess Radha.
Devotees will follow a half-day fast on this day. Some devotees observe this fast for full day and some even without water. Devotees will fast until noon and sing devotional songs in praise of the divine couple and their pastimes.
✨The Appearance of Srimati Radharani / significance✨
Radhashtami is a very special day for all the Gaudiya vaishnavas, as by obtaining the mercy of Srimati Radharani one can easily achieve Krishna-prema.
Radhashtami is celebrated by Krishna's devotees as the appearance anniversary of Srimati Radharani, who is Krishna's greatest devotee, the feminine aspect of the Absolute Truth, and Krishna's energy personified.
Srimati Radharani is the eternal consort of Lord Krishna. 5 thousands years ago, when Lord Krishna came to this planet to perform his pastimes, srimati Radharani also appeared. This year we celebrate her appearance on August 26.
''On a half-moon night in the month of bhadra, king vrishabhanu came to the jamuna to bath and found himself engulfed in a golden Aura, the golden aura of pure love. It was emanating from a lotus, which had a baby girl standing on its whorl. When the king return to the palace with the baby, queen Kirtida was delighted. She was also shocked that girl was blind.
''lord Krishna's mother, Yashoda, heard that her best friend kirtida has a baby, So she came to visit along with her husband and her son(kanha). Krishna crawled up to the cradle and pulled himself up and looked in. At the moment, Radharani eyes fluttered and opened wide and blossomed like lotuses. It seems that she did not want to see anything of this world, only the form of shri Krishna.
(I can't describe the great and the pure love (prema) between Radhakrishna.)
In 1969 srila prabhupada's lecture on Radhashtami which he gave in London, he said ''Radharani is the pleasure potency, hladhini shakti''. she is considered as the supreme shakti of Lord Krishna. Just like the sun ☀ and sunlight can not be separated, RadhaKrishna, both are inseparable. For expanding bliss and love, they decided to get separated.
Our Srila prabhupada tells that one must pray by following these lines : 'O Radha! Supreme goddess of fortune! Please accept this flower 🌸and offer it to your Krishna'.
When a devotee follows this and chants the sacred 'Hare Krishna mantra'. He/She becomes free from all the impurities of mind and reach the spiritual world to connect with the devotional service to divine couple.
''Srimati Radharani is the mother of the entire universe, the spiritual mother of all souls. And the concept of mother is the most sacred symbol - that of purity, selflessness, caring, sharing, nurturing, and love.
That is why our sacred mantra is the Holy names.
Anyone not able to read any strotam or shloks, don't worry, we have a maha mantra which is simple any one can chant this mantra - 🌹 ''Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare /Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare.'' 🌹
'Hare' means 'Radhe'. It is a plaintive desperate cry for the mother. 'O Radhe!' please wake us up from this nightmare of mortal life! Remind us of that father we have forgotten and take us home!'
In this Krishna consciousness movement, devotees carefully worship Srimati Radharani as the bestower of devotional service to Krishna, by attentively chanting her name in the maha-mantra, by worshiping her deity form, and by following the instructions of the most merciful Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, who is the combined form of Radhakrishna.
The mantra which is chanted on Radhashtami are :
'Aum Vrashbahnujaye Vidmahe, Krishnapriyaye Dheemahi Tanno Radha Prachodyat'
'ॐ वृषभानु: जायै विद्महे, कृष्णप्रियायै धीमहि तन्नो राधा :प्रचोदयात्"
Jai Jai Shree Radhe.
jai Radhey
Jai Radhey Radhey
However this year, due to the corona virus epidemic, devotees are celebrating Radhashtami with simplicity in the house and this festival is being celebrated with simplicity in all the temples of Radha-Krishna. Not only this, Radhashtami fair has also been postponed due to this epidemic.
Don't worry The real temple in our heart ♥.
